Yes, 100%. Reporters never need to create an account or share any personal information. We don't collect names, emails, or phone numbers from reporters. Their identity is completely anonymous by design.

We have rate limiting in place — a maximum of 5 reports per QR code per hour per device. You can also flag and block any report you receive. Our team reviews flagged content and can suspend abusive activity.

Our stickers are UV-resistant weatherproof vinyl designed to last in Australian conditions. If your sticker is damaged or removed, you can order a replacement for just $9.99. Your QR code and account stay active — you just need a new physical sticker.

No app needed — ever. The QR code opens directly in the phone's browser. Any smartphone with a camera can scan it natively. This is essential for ensuring anyone can report, including people who would never download an app.

Absolutely not. The public scan page only shows your car's nickname (e.g. "Blue Hatchback") if you choose — never your name, phone number, email, home address, or registration plate number. You control exactly what's visible.

Email notifications are delivered within 60 seconds of a report being submitted. Pro plan holders also receive SMS notifications for near-instant alerts, which is critical for urgent situations like a flat tyre or lights left on.

Both the DIY and Pro plans support 1 vehicle each. If you have multiple vehicles, you can purchase a separate QR code for each one from your dashboard. Multi-vehicle plans may be available in a future update.

CarNote is initially launching in Australia. International expansion is planned for New Zealand, the UK, and other English-speaking markets. Sign up for the waitlist to be notified when we launch in your region.

Physical stickers are non-refundable once shipped, as they are custom-printed with your unique QR code. If you receive a damaged or defective sticker, contact us at help@carnote.com.au and we'll send a replacement free of charge.

Each CarNote QR code is valid for 3 years from the date of purchase. You'll receive an email reminder 2 weeks before expiration, giving you time to purchase a replacement QR code. After expiration, the QR code will be deactivated and will no longer accept reports.

Two weeks before expiration, we'll send you an email reminder to purchase a new QR code. On the expiration date, your QR code will be automatically deactivated. Anyone scanning it will see a message that the code has expired. Your report history will remain accessible in your dashboard for 90 days after expiration.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Apple Pay through our secure payment processor, Stripe. All transactions are encrypted and we never store your card details. For help with payments, email help@carnote.com.au.

Physical sticker printing and delivery is coming soon in Phase 2. Pro tier purchasers will be notified first and can request their physical sticker to be mailed at no additional cost. For now, all tiers include a downloadable PDF QR code that you can print yourself.

Make sure the sticker is clean and not heavily scratched. Most modern smartphones scan QR codes automatically through the camera app — no special app needed. If you're still having trouble, try scanning from a slightly different angle or distance. If the issue persists, contact help@carnote.com.au and we'll help you out.

Currently all QR codes use the standard CarNote branded design for maximum scannability and recognition. Custom designs and colour options are on our roadmap for a future update. You can download a branded printable version from your dashboard at any time.

Log in to your dashboard and go to the Vehicles page. Each vehicle has its own notification email field that you can update at any time. You can also set a default notification email on the Account page, which will be applied to new vehicles automatically.

Yes. On the Vehicles page of your dashboard, you can toggle email notifications off for any vehicle. You can also disable the QR code entirely from the QR Codes page — this stops all report submissions until you re-enable it. There's a 5-minute grace period when disabling, so you can undo it if you change your mind.

Go to your Account Settings page and scroll to the Danger Zone. Click "Delete Account" and confirm by typing DELETE. This permanently removes your account, all vehicles, QR codes, and reports. This action cannot be undone. If you need help, email help@carnote.com.au.

No. QR codes are permanently assigned to a single vehicle and cannot be transferred or reassigned. This is a security measure to prevent misuse. If you sell your car, you should remove the sticker and disable the QR code from your dashboard. The new owner can purchase their own CarNote sticker.

When you delete your account, all your data is permanently removed — including vehicles, QR codes, reports, and your profile. QR codes linked to your account are deactivated and will no longer accept reports. We don't retain any personal data after deletion, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
